— Why Vervelle —

The Bench Difference

Condition documented before we start

Every piece is photographed and assessed in writing before any tool touches it. You know the baseline; we know where we stand.

Hand finishing, not machine buffing

Case geometry is preserved because we re-establish brushed and polished surfaces by hand. The watch looks like itself, not like it's been through a polishing wheel.

Honest turnaround windows

We give ranges, not optimistic deadlines. Two weeks for refinishing, three to four for a service, eight to fourteen for vintage restoration.

Written records included as standard

Timing reports, condition sheets, parts provenance lists, and conservation notes come with the piece, not as optional extras.

Parts fabricated in-house when needed

For vintage calibres where supply has long dried up, we manufacture small components at the bench rather than fitting modern substitutes.

24-month service coverage

Movement service work comes with a 24-month coverage period. If the calibre develops a rate fault attributable to the service, we attend to it at no further charge.

— Get in Touch —

Your watch is worth a proper look

Describe what you've noticed — a rate that has drifted, a case that needs attention, or a piece that has been sitting unworn for a decade. We'll tell you what the bench work involves and what to expect.

— Common Questions —

Before You Bring It In

How do I know if my watch needs a full movement service?

Common signs include a rate that has become noticeably inconsistent, a rotor that sounds dry or catches, or simply a service interval of more than five to seven years for a mechanical movement. We check the rate on receipt and share the timing figures with you before any work begins.

Does refinishing change the look of my case permanently?

The aim is to restore the surfaces the maker originally intended — not to create a new finish. Brushed areas are re-brushed by hand with the original directional grain; polished bevels are brought back to their geometry. The before-and-after condition sheet we produce lets you compare the result directly.

What qualifies a watch for the Vintage Restoration Programme?

Pieces from roughly the 1930s through to the 1970s — where the calibre uses parts that are no longer commercially available and where preserving original dials, hands, and case markings matters to the owner. We discuss scope and the question of reversibility before work begins.

How should I drop off or ship my watch to you?

Walk-in drop-offs are welcome at our Bangsar Baru address during workshop hours. For pieces sent by post, please contact us first so we can advise on appropriate packaging and insured shipping carriers available in Malaysia.

Are the quoted prices fixed or subject to change?

The listed prices cover the described scope. If we open the movement and find a component requiring replacement that is outside the standard service, we contact you with a written note of what we found, the cost to address it, and the option to proceed or collect the watch as-is.

What does the 24-month service coverage actually cover?

If the movement develops a rate fault or a lubrication-related issue attributable to the service we performed, we will address it at no further labour charge within 24 months. It does not cover physical damage, water ingress from a compromised case, or secondary work not included in the original service.

How is my personal data handled when I submit an enquiry?

Information submitted through the enquiry form is used solely to respond to your question and to arrange work if you proceed. We do not share your details with third parties for marketing purposes. Our full approach is described in the Privacy Policy.
