Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: 10 June 2025 | Effective Date: 10 June 2025
These terms govern your use of the Vervelle website at vervelle.live and any watch or clock repair services you engage from Vervelle, operating at Lot 4-2, Jalan Telawi 3, Bangsar Baru, 59100 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Please read these terms before submitting an enquiry or bringing a piece to the workshop.
1. Definitions
- "Workshop" / "We" / "Us" / "Our" — Vervelle, the watch and clock repair workshop
- "Client" / "You" — any person who submits an enquiry, drops off a piece, or uses our website
- "Services" — movement servicing and regulation, case and bracelet refinishing, and the Vintage Restoration Programme, as described on the website
- "Piece" — any watch, clock, or horological item left with the workshop
- "Agreement" — these terms, together with any written scope document or job sheet agreed between us
2. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting an enquiry form, contacting us by phone or email, or dropping off a piece at the workshop, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older, that you have the legal capacity to enter into an agreement, and that you accept these terms. If you are acting on behalf of another person as the owner of the piece, you warrant that you have their authority to do so.
3. Service Description
Vervelle provides three core bench services: Movement Service and Regulation (RM 480), Case and Bracelet Refinishing (RM 1,750), and the Vintage Restoration Programme (from RM 4,120). Full descriptions, including what is included within scope, are published on the Solutions page of our website. Services are provided at our Bangsar Baru workshop. We do not operate as a mail-in-only service; postal arrangements require prior agreement.
We reserve the right to decline any piece where, in our assessment, the required work falls outside our current capabilities or where the piece presents safety concerns.
4. Scope, Quotes, and Changes
Published prices cover the described scope for each service. Before work begins, we will confirm in writing (by email or written job sheet) the applicable service, the scope of work, and the price. If during the work we identify an issue beyond the agreed scope — for example, a component requiring replacement that is not part of a standard service — we will contact you with a written description of the finding and the additional cost. We will not proceed beyond the agreed scope without your written approval.
You may decline any additional work. In that case, we will return the piece in whatever state it was in when the additional finding was made, having completed only the originally agreed work where that is possible.
5. Turnaround Times
Turnaround estimates are given as ranges: approximately 2 weeks for refinishing, 3–4 weeks for movement service, and 8–14 weeks for vintage restoration (depending on part availability). These are estimates, not commitments. We will notify you if a job is running to the longer end of its range. We are not liable for losses arising from delays that are outside our reasonable control.
6. Payment
Payment is due in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) at the time of collection. We accept cash and major debit and credit cards. For vintage restoration work, we may request a deposit before sourcing begins; this will be agreed and confirmed in writing before any payment is made.
If a piece is not collected within 60 days of the collection notification, we reserve the right to charge a storage fee of RM 5 per day from the 61st day. Pieces not collected within 180 days after completion notification may be treated as abandoned property in accordance with applicable Malaysian law.
7. Client Responsibilities
- You warrant that you are the owner of the piece, or that you have the owner's authority to authorise work on it
- You agree to provide accurate information about the piece's history and condition to the best of your knowledge
- You agree to collect the piece within a reasonable time following our collection notification
- You agree not to misuse our website or submit false or misleading enquiries
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the Vervelle website — including text, photographs, and workshop documentation templates — is the property of Vervelle and may not be reproduced without written permission. The photographs and written reports produced as part of your service job are provided for your personal reference and may not be reproduced commercially.
9. Disclaimers
We carry out all work with reasonable care and skill. However, watchmaking involves working with components that are often many decades old and may be in an undisclosed condition. We do not warrant that all pieces can be returned to full working order, and we do not promise specific timekeeping performance outcomes — we provide timing figures as information, not as a performance standard to be met indefinitely.
The website is provided for information purposes. Nothing on it constitutes professional horological advice specific to your piece without an in-person assessment.
10. Limitation of Liability
Our liability to you for any claim arising from our services is limited to the price paid for the service in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of sentimental or collector value, except where such losses arise from our gross negligence or wilful misconduct. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Malaysian law.
11. Force Majeure
We are not in breach of these terms where delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, supply chain disruptions, or government-imposed restrictions.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Vervelle against any claims, losses, or costs (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these terms, your provision of false ownership or authority information, or your misuse of our website.
13. Termination
Either party may withdraw from an agreed service before work has begun. Once work has commenced, you may withdraw by collecting the piece in its current state; the charge will be prorated to reflect the work completed. We reserve the right to decline future work from clients who breach these terms.
14. Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us at [email protected] in the first instance; we will make reasonable efforts to resolve matters informally within 30 days. If informal resolution is not achieved, disputes shall be submitted to the jurisdiction of the courts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 (Malaysia) and other applicable consumer protection legislation are not affected by these terms.
15. General Provisions
- Entire agreement: These terms, together with any written job sheet, constitute the entire agreement between us for the relevant service
- Severability: If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force
- Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision on a particular occasion does not constitute a waiver of that provision
- Assignment: We may assign our obligations under a service agreement to another qualified workshop with your prior notification; you may not assign your rights without our consent
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of our website or our services after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will not apply material changes retroactively to jobs already agreed and underway.
